Under the Indonesian Immigration Law, the purpose and lengths of your planned travel will determine what type of visa is required to enter Indonesian territory.

If you are a Belgian or Luxemburg passport holder, since 2016, to visit Indonesia for tourism purposes less than 30 days, you are entitled to Free 30 Day Tourist Visa Facility.

For other purposes than tourism, please identify the purpose of your intended visit and provide all requirements to receive the appropriate visa.

1. Free 30 Day Tourist Visa

The Free 30 Day Tourist Visa is applicable for Belgian and Luxemburg Citizens who intend to visit Indonesia for period up to or less than 30 days, for the following purposes:

  • Tourism/leisure
  • Visiting family
  • Social visit
  • Art and cultural activities
  • Government visit
  • Giving lecture or attending seminar
  • Attending international exhibition
  • Attending meeting with headquarter or representative office in Indonesia
  • Transit

This Free Visa facility is obtainable at ports of entries in Indonesia, free of charge.

It is valid only for 30 days, non-extendable and cannot be transferred into any other type of stay permit. This visa cannot be used for journalistic activities or business visit.

Travellers who wish to enjoy the Free Visa facility must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival, and have proof (tickets) of onward and return passage.

By Presidential Decree of 21of 2016 dated on 2 March 2016 on Visa Free, replacing Presidential Regulation Number 104/2015 on Amendments to Presidential Regulation Number 69/2015 on Visa Free, Indonesia now provides special Short Stay Visa Free facilities for tourists who are nationals of a total 169 countries who wish to travel to Indonesia.

The visa exemption facility can be used for tourism, family visit, social visit, art and cultural, government duty, to deliver a speech or attend a seminar, international exhibition, meetings with head office or representative office in Indonesia, or transit.

The following are the Countries granted Visa Free Facilities according to Presidential Decree No. 21 of 2016.

2. Visit Visa : Visa on Arrival (VOA)

Visa on Arrival (VoA) is applicable for Belgian and Luxemburg Citizens who intend to visit Indonesia for period up to or less than 30 days, for the following purposes:
  • Tourism/leisure
  • Visiting family
  • Social visit
  • Art and cultural activities
  • Government visit
  • Giving lecture or attending seminar
  • Attending international exhibition
  • Attending meeting with headquarter or representative office in Indonesia
  • Transit
VoA can be obtained at Immigration Counters at ports of entries in Indonesia. The maximum stay for VoA is 30 days. If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you need to mention your intention to stay longer when applying this visa at ports of entries. VoA can be extended for another 30 days by applying at the Immigration Office. VoA can only be extended 1 (one) time only. VoA cannot be converted to obtain other immigration permits and cannot be used for journalistic activities or business visits. Requirements for Visa on Arrival:
  1. Passport, with minimum validity of 6 months and has at least one blank page for visa.
  2. A return ticket.
  3. Fee of US$ 35.

3. Visit Visa: 60 Day Tourist Visa

The 60 Day Tourist Visa is applicable for travellers who intend to visit Indonesia for period more than 30 days up to 60 days, for the following purposes:
  • Tourism/leisure
  • Visiting family
  • Social visit
  • Art and cultural activities.
60 Day Tourist Visa cannot be used for journalistic activities or business visit and cannot be extended.

Requirements:
  1. Passport with a minimum validity of six months.
  2. A recent photo.
  3. Belgian/Luxemburg ID Card.
  4. A return ticket.
  5. Bank Statement with a minimum amount of €1500.
  6. Filled, signed and printed Application Form. The Form is available online via: http://visa.indosolution.nl/ . Note : If any problem should occur during accessing the online form, applicants can fill and print the form at the Embassy.  
  7. A fee of €50, payable only with Bankcontact.

4. Visit Visa: Social and Cultural Visa

The Social and Cultural Visa is applicable for travellers who intend to visit Indonesia for the following purposes:
  • Internship
  • Visiting Family
  • Social visit
  • Art and cultural activities
The maximum period of Social and Cultural Visa that can be granted by the Embassy is 60 days. Social and Cultural Visa cannot be used for journalistic activities or business visits.

Requirements:
  1. Passport with a minimum validity of six months.
  2. A recent photo.
  3. Belgian/Luxemburg ID Card.
  4. A return ticket.
  5. Bank Statement with a minimum amount of €1500.
  6. Sponsor Letter from the company/institution in Indonesia.
  7. Copy of ID Card (KTP) of the person in charge of the sponsoring company/institution in Indonesia.
  8. Filled, signed and printed Application Form. The Form is available online via: http://visa.indosolution.nl/ . Note : If any problem should occur during accessing the online form, applicants can fill and print the form at the Embassy.  
  9. A fee of €50, payable only with Bankcontact.
Note: If a longer period of stay for this visit is needed, the company/institution in Indonesia who sponsors for the applicant must submit the application through Immigration Office in Indonesia.  Once approved by the Immigration Office, the applicant then needs to visit the Embassy to collect the visa and provide all the requirements as mentioned above, plus a copy of Approval Letter from the Immigration Office.

5. Visit Visa : Business Visa

The Business Visa is applicable for travellers who intend to do business related activities.

Requirements:
  1. Passport with a minimum validity of six months.
  2. A recent photo.
  3. Belgian/Luxemburg ID Card.
  4. A return ticket.
  5. Bank Statement with a minimum amount of €1500.
  6. Letter from the company in Belgium or Luxemburg (stating that you will have a business meeting/activities in Indonesia).
  7. Invitation Letter from the company in Indonesia.
  8. Filled, signed and printed Application Form.  The Form is available online via : http://visa.indosolution.nl/ . Note : If any problem should occur during accessing the online form, applicants can fill and print the form at the Embassy.  
  9. A fee of €50, payable only with Bankcontact.
Note: the Embassy can only issue a single entry Business Visa. Travellers who need Multiple Entry Visa will need to submit the application through the Immigration Office in Indonesia. Once approved by the Immigration Office, the applicant then needs to visit the Embassy to collect the visa and provide all the requirements as mentioned above, plus a copy of Approval Letter from the Immigration Office. Please also be advised that for Multiple Entry Visa, the minimum of validity of passport is 18 months for 1 year Multiple Entry Visa, the fee for Multiple Entry Visa is €115 (not including the fee to get an approval of the Immigration Office of €15).

6. Limited Stay Visa

Limited Stay Visa is applicable for travellers who intend to stay in Indonesia a longer period for the following purposes:
  • Working
  • Investment
  • Research
  • Education
  • Family Reunification
  • Repatriation
  • Retirement
Limited Stay Visa can later be extended to obtain the temporary permit (KIMS/KITAS) once the holder arrives in Indonesia. To apply for this visa, the Guarantor/Sponsor of the visa applicant must submit an application through the Immigration Office in Indonesia. Once approved by the Immigration Office, the applicant then can collect the visa at the Embassy and provide all the following requirements:
  1. Passport, minimum validity of passport:  18 months for research purposes, and 30 months for other purposes.
  2. A recent photo.
  3. Belgian/Luxemburg ID Card.
  4. A return ticket.
  5. Bank Statement with a minimum amount of €1500.
  6. Invitation/Sponsor Letter from the company/institution/family in Indonesia.
  7. Copy of ID Card (KTP) of the person in charge of the sponsoring company/institution/family in Indonesia.
  8. Filled, signed and printed Application Form. The Form is available online vi : http://visa.indosolution.nl/ . Note: If any problem should occur during accessing the online form, applicants can fill and print the form at the Embassy.
  9. Fee of €150 per application, payable only with Bankcontact (not including the fee to get an approval for the Immigration Office of €15).

7. Journalist Visa

As regulated by the Government of Indonesia, travellers who intend to visit Indonesia for journalistic activities, media coverage, foreign correspondence, or commercial/non-commercial filming/video shooting activities, must obtain Journalist Visa.

Please note that the process to obtain a Journalist Visa takes approximately 6-8 weeks. The Journalist Visa will need approval from authorities in Jakarta.

8. Diplomatic and Official Visa

Diplomatic and Official Visa are applicable for diplomatic and official passport holders who intend to visit or stay in Indonesia for diplomatic assignments or official visit in Indonesia.

Travellers with Laissez-Passer of United Nations or European Union may apply for this visa. Based on reciprocity, the diplomatic and official visa are free of charge.

To apply for this visa, please provide the following documents:
  1. Passport with a minimum validity of six months.
  2. A recent photo.
  3. A return ticket.
  4. Diplomatic Note/Note Verbal, mentioning name of the official, date of birth, position and title, place of assignment or visit, travel date, intended length of stay, family or any dependants who will be accompanying the official.
  5. Filled, signed and printed Application Form.

Please note that the Embassy can only accept Bankcontact for all payments. All payments once paid cannot be returned, including when your visa application is not accepted.

11. Photo Specification

Please make sure that your photo follows below criteria:
  • Passport size.
  • White background.
  • Head is 80% of the image total height from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
  • Taken in front of a plain red background.
  • Printed using photo paper.
  • Note: Do not staple or affixed the photographs on the form.
